The Ancient Greeks believed that all beauty could be explained mathematically and to an extent, they were right. There is only one mathematical relationship consistently reported in all living things. This equation stems from the Fibonacci Series, a unique sequence of integers, starting with 1, in which each element is the sum of the two previous numbers.

Ex: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, etc.

As the Fibonacci sequence develops, the ratio between each number and its neighbor gets closer to 1.618 or φ (phi), the Golden Ratio.

As we age, our faces fall further from the golden ratio. The cheeks sag, resulting in the appearance of jowls. The corners of the mouth move downwards and take on the look of a frown.
